WHO WE ARE

SAR DOG™ makes apparel for the search and rescue community: the crews, the families, and everyone who stands behind them. Our designs celebrate Coast Guard aircraft, rescue boats, traditions, and the humor and sense of purpose found throughout the rescue community, alongside boating, fishing, aviation, and coastal designs inspired by life on the water.

Co-owned by John, a retired Coast Guard aviator with 22 years of military service, and his wife and business partner Melissa, an Air Force veteran. We started SAR DOG™ because we wanted apparel that felt authentic to people who have lived the mission, supported it, or proudly stand behind it, not another generic military apparel brand.

​The dog in our logo is Ridley, our five-year-old Samoyed and the SAR DOG™ mascot. She's named after the Kemp's ridley sea turtle, she loves people, and she brings real focus to everything she does. She's the friendly face of the brand and the star of our Rescue Ridley collection. Ridley isn't a trained rescue dog and we don't make K9 team gear; she just reminds us why rescue matters.
